Owning a house in Sweden had long been a dream of my husband's. Not necessarily to emigrate completely someday, but to have a place we could keep coming back to. A place where you don't just vacation, but actually spend time. In 2021, we finally decided to turn that dream into a real project.

Sometimes the best decisions come about quite unexpectedly. We are Maike, Thomas and Arik, and today we spend as much time as possible in our little holiday home in the heart of Småland. When we look out over the forests in the morning, enjoy the quiet, or simply sit on the terrace, it often feels as if this place has always been part of our lives.

When people think about a holiday in Sweden, most probably picture summer first. Long days, lakes, red wooden houses and evenings that never seem to get properly dark. We completely understand. Swedish summers are beautiful, and our house is usually well booked during this time.
